Inferno: A Typographic Descent

PROJECT DETAILS

Where form becomes feeling

This experimental type book reimagines Dante Alighieri’s Inferno as an immersive typographic journey, using type as voice, rhythm, and pacing. Merging excerpts from the English translation with original narrative summaries, the book guides readers through the nine rings of Hell—each spread typographically tailored to mirror the psychological and physical torment of its realm. A stark color palette of black, white, and red underscores the intensity of Dante’s descent, while evoking the tension and turmoil at the heart of the narrative.
